Our Origin
Unwined is a getaway for all level of lovers of wine, food and the most important part... people! Wine should be something enjoyed by people around a table or bar, regardless of their relationship with wine. We aim to bring an unpretentious approach to wine bars in which you can be free to explore new flavors and profiles, or have just as much enjoyment with your tried and true options.
We've Made a Physical Embodiment of Our Love For Hospitality Through Wine, Food and a Vibe You Can Only Find in Milford, NH.
We don't stock wine just because we think it will sell. We taste every wine and carefully consider it before it makes our list. (Any bottle you find in our shop is a bottle we would drink ourselves.) It is our responsibility to represent these spirited wines and the people behind them with the utmost respect and most importantly in good faith.
Emma Round | Founder & Sommelier
A Jet-setter from birth, Emma was born in Gloucester, England and just eleven weeks later had her first plane ride to Portugal. Her life of traveling, including countries throughout Europe and to South Africa, the Caribbean Islands and here in the USA, has developed her knowledge of different cultures, people and (of course!) wine and food.
Always knowing she wanted to own and manage her own business in hospitality, after her formal education, Emma gained practical experience in European ski resorts and sunspots in the Mediterranean, as well as fine dining restaurants in the UK, and two luxury hotels in Boston.
New England ticked all the boxes for Emma's dreams, and qualifications with the globally recognized Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) plus her new USA friends all combined a plan to start a wine and restaurant business in New Hampshire. The idea of Unwined was born!
Somehow, between navigating all the laws, procedures, and processes in opening a brand new business, Emma still finds time to go to the gym daily, watch the Patriots at Gillette, attend concerts, read avidly, and have fun with all the friends made along the way.
But that's not all... Emma's love of wine runs deep: the first time she was found sitting at a bar was at just 2 years old while on vacation with family & now she can hack squat 131 bottles of wine (or 345 lbs for those of you who don't measure everything by wine... )

Jason Duffy |
Executive Chef
Jason Duffy grew up in restaurant kitchens on Cape Cod, starting as a dishwasher at 14 after his mother jokingly informed him after a cocktail party that he “had a job now.” Over the next decade of Cape summers, he worked his way from prep cook to the line, learning the rhythm, speed, and discipline of a professional kitchen long before discovering his creative voice as a chef.
As his career evolved alongside the rise of smartphones and endless access to information, Jason combined hands-on experience with constant curiosity, learning from mentors, experimentation, and his own instincts. What began as observation soon became innovation, and his natural talent for creative cooking led him into leadership roles until he was eventually running entire kitchens.
That same passion for learning, adapting, and refining ideas ultimately brought him to Unwined, where he now works alongside his fiancée Emma, the owner, and his close friend Casey, the GM. Together, they’ve embraced the opportunity to build something rooted in family, friendship, and hospitality.
Fun fact: Jason once chartered a four-seat plane into a hurricane rather than miss a long-awaited island vacation. While he appreciates life’s quieter moments, once he commits to something, he’s fully in for the adventure. He’s passionate about what he does and excited for this new chapter at Unwined.
Cheers to what’s next!
